1. Who this applies to

• Merchants — furniture retailers who create an account, install our Shopify app, or add our widget to their store.
• Shoppers — visitors who use the room-preview widget on a merchant's website.

2. Data we collect

Merchant account data

• Name, email address, password (stored hashed), and optional phone number
• Store domain(s) you register (e.g. yourstore.com or yourstore.myshopify.com)
• Billing information processed by Stripe (payment method tokens — we do not store full card numbers)
• Usage, billing, and dashboard activity related to widget clicks

Shopify app data

When you install furniture-ai, we receive data from Shopify as permitted by the scopes you approve at install, including:

• Shop name, domain, and contact details associated with the store
• Product and collection information needed to power visualization on product pages
• Online Store / theme information needed to install and configure the theme app extension
• Staff or account identifiers required for embedded app authentication (session tokens)

Widget and shopper data

• Room photos or images uploaded by shoppers to generate previews (processed to provide the service)
• Product identifiers, page URLs, and interaction events (e.g. widget opens and billable clicks)
• Technical data such as browser type, device type, and approximate usage timestamps

3. How we use data

• Provide, operate, and improve the visualization widget and merchant dashboard
• Authenticate Shopify embedded app sessions and link stores to your account
• Measure billable widget usage and invoice merchants (10p per preview ($0.13 USD via Shopify) where applicable)
• Provide support, security monitoring, and fraud prevention
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal data. We do not use shopper room photos for unrelated advertising.

4. Third-party services

• Shopify — app hosting, authentication, and store data
• Stripe — payment method collection and billing
• Vercel — application hosting
• jsDelivr / GitHub — delivery of the public widget script

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies, only as needed to deliver our service.

5. Retention

We retain merchant account and billing records while your account is active and as required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. Room photos and generated previews are kept only as long as needed to provide the service and run usage analytics, then deleted or anonymised according to our operational schedules.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, hashed passwords, authenticated API access, and Shopify session token verification. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we work to protect your data and review our practices regularly.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location (including the UK and EEA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object or withdraw consent where applicable.
